we are the world

25 years ago, Michael Jackson and Lionel Ritchie wrote this song. Quincy Jones produced it and a whole lotta artists lent their voices to help feed the hungry in Africa. Now, 25 years later, they're at it again...this time for Haiti. I'd heard about this but hadn't yet seen/heard it...until today. And so...once more we are being asked to help those in need. We are being asked to open our hearts and our wallets to help those people who've been devastated by the horrible earthquake back in January. And you know what? It doesn't take much. Think about this:

At last count (July 2008), the US census bureau counted 304,059,724 people in these United States. (and, no doubt, that number is larger now). Let's say that only half of those people are able to give even just $1. That would come to $152,029,362. That's a LOT of dollars. So, why not take a moment...watch/listen to this remarkable video, and send the folks a dollar (or ten). It'll make ya feel REALLY good. Promise.
