just another form of energy?

I'll be the first one to tell you that there are times when I wanna smack somebody upside the head when they say:

"it's only money"

Ever notice how the ones who say this are those with lots of it?
Ever notice how people who don't have any (or have very little) never say this?
Ever notice that?

Lately I've been giving this some extra thought, because I believe there is some kind of deep-seeded resentment going on (around the money thing). Also because I loathe the feeling of resentment, in ANY form. Does no good whatsoever...

(cool quote: "resentment is like taking poison and waiting for the other person to die."). is one of the most counter-productive emotions we put on ourselves. Utterly useless.

As I've been pondering this money thing I've come to a few realizations. One is that money is merely a form of energy. Some go so far as to say it is merely another form of love. I'm not sure if I can buy that just yet, but it's worth thinking about. Regardless of all that, money IS a form of energy and that energy must be ALLOWED. If not, it doesn't flow your way. That's the simple approach.

On a more broad spectrum, I got to thinking about what other forms of energy might further my 'allowing' this "money energy" to flow more easily into my world. What do I have now that I can share generously with the world to encourage the flow of all things good?

The very first thing that popped into my brain was "YOUR SMILE".

Now you might think this is kinda silly, but honestly...we've all got one and we can give it to anyone we like all day long and never run out. We can share a smile with every person we meet on the street, on the road while driving, in the store, at the library, taking the dog for a walk, hiking through the woods, ANYWHERE we are. Smiles are energy too. And the ripple effect is remarkable.

Think about it.

When you smile at someone, more often than not they're going to smile back atcha. At least that's been my experience. 90% of the time it works. Of course, there are those who just WANT to be miserable and there's not a whole hellofalot you can do for them. But for the other 90% you meet, that one little smile can make their day. I've seen this magick in action over and over. And it NEVER gets old. I smile at someone, they smile back...and the day gets sunnier. The day is more alive. The energy grows and the smiles keep circling back around. It's the coolest thing.

So, I decided that any time I feel that 'resentment' crap rising up around money (or anything else, for that matter), I'm just going to smile. I'm going to go stand in front of the mirror and give mySELF a big ol' grin. I'm gonna love on ME so I can get that flow flowing again...and stop being so angry at the people who say "it's only money". It's not THEIR fault that I'm stopping my flow. It's likely because they figured this out a long time ago...and have been going with that flow ever since. It's got nothing to do with "smarter" or "luckier" or "family wealth". It's got everything to do with one's attitude and the emotions wrapped around that particular form of energy. You're either letting it in OR NOT.

Before you go asking "HOW?"...let me say this:

Turn your attention to the things that DO flow in your world. Keep your focus there. Keep your focus there long enough to let that smile slide onto your face. And then...share it.

THERE is your "how".

You've shared your wisdom with me on a number of occasions and I've learned to take your thoughts to heart. Your spiritual point of view and deep insight have lifted my spirits many times.

Your thoughts on money are so very true--just like your thoughts on smiling. I, too, like to smile at strangers on the street and that simple act does make the world a happier place.

What I hadn't yet considered was going to the mirror and smiling at myself. What a fabulous idea! I need to realize that I am just as worthy as anyone of a great big, toothy grin of joy and happiness. After all, I'm learning from the best-- and JoyZaChoice dontchaknow!

Hi Camille,
I really like this idea of thinking about all we have and allowing a smile to show up and then sharing it. Seems like an expanded version of choosing joy.
One thing that came up when I read your post is that we never know what will come from sharing a smile, from being in that energy of gratitude. Sure seems like we will be ready for more noticing of the good stuff rather than if we are down, crabby, complaining. Those are the times we miss things and I suspect most of us reading this don't want to miss a thing these days.

Isoooo agree with you! As for the smile at myself...I'm going to put that into action starting now! What a way to rock your own world and get the flow moving! I love that idea immensely!

Wow...I think you just made my day, lol!
