Rosa's Pizza

Saw a thing on Ellen (DeGeneres) yesterday about a guy who quit Wall Street to open a Pizza Parlor in Philadelphia. At 27, he decided the money wasn't worth the toll it was taking on him. So he opened up this pizza joint and then decided to go one step further: he came up with the idea to have his customers buy a slice (for a whopping $1) for any of the many homeless folks who might like to eat. When folks purchase for someone else, they can post a Sticky Note on the wall, along with a message, if they choose, to whomever might want a slice. Then the "homeless person" can come in, take a Sticky off the wall, and present it to the cashier, whereby they get a slice of pizza.

BRILLIANT!

Of course, when Ellen heard about it, she brought him to L.A. and had him on the show. When I saw the piece, I got this giant grin on my mugg; for the entire time the young man was on. I just love it when folks do stuff like that. Because, as heaven knows, it could happen to any one of us. As the saying goes, "but for the grace of God go I...."

So...I'm posting this link so ya'll can dash on over there and help out, if you want. For one little dollar, you could help someone have a delish slice of pizza. And know that you gave a person some hope. Even for just a moment. I can't think of any better way to spend a dollar!

Here's the link: Rosa's Pizza

P.S. They also have t-shirts and sweat shirts available, if you'd like to buy someone a little warmth. You'll find them in the Apparel section of the site.
