Light from Many Lamps

I found the marvelous book; "Light from Many Lamps", which was written in 1951! It is a grand collection of quotes, stories, biographies, and various other insights from some of the greatest minds of our world. The kind of book one might keep on their bedside table for inspiring seeds to sleep with. The curious thing about this book is that when it was written, the world was then in a very stifled and frightening place. Funny how that stuff comes back 'round, eh? Anyway, I thought that today (and, most certainly in the days to come) I might share a few of the tidbits that brought a smile and some heart flutterings:

"The grand essentials to happiness in this life are something to do, something to love, and something to hope for."
~ Joseph Addison

"No matter how often defeated, you are born to victory. The reward of a thing well done is to have done it."
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

"Let not your mind run on what you lack as much as on what you have already. Of the things you have, select the best; and then reflect how eagerly they would have been sought if you did not have them."
~ Marcus Aurelius

Enjoy your seeds!
