boyhowdy! i can tell already that time's a-flyin' even as this new year begins. SHEESH! so what are we gonna do this year? what are we gonna do differently from the last? what's going to make this year stand out for us?
as previously mentioned, i do not do 'resolutions'. i've always found them to be quite counter-productive. but then, i'm the kinda gal who doesn't do goal setting either. at least not anymore. tried it for years. never worked for me. just made me feel like a loser. why in the world would anyone continue to do something that makes 'em feel that way? i don't know about you, but for me it's all about finding what does work and going with it til it's time to move on to something else. i mean, if mr. ford had stopped at the model T, where do you suppose we'd be now? or mr. gates. or those folks who came up with the first washing machine.
you get the point.
everything is on its way to something else. E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G. and if you don't try new stuff, you'll never know just how much more there is. if you stay in your comfy little zone without ever branching off into the unknown, you end up like some stale moldy piece of bread (huh?). well, again, you get the point. it's not about making promises you won't keep. it's not about saying "i'm going to....." blah blah blah and then forgetting all about it by the 2nd week of january. those are not the keys to living one's fullest life. unless, of course, you'd rather just skulk around and stay in your comfy little world with nary a thought to what else might be out there for you. your choice.
i'm thinking that this particular year is going to show me more unfoldings. more new ideas. more fun. more joy. more of everything. why? because it's what i've set my sights on. because as lovely as my home is and as wonderful as my life is, i know there's even more loveliness. contrary to what we hear day in and day out, that there are shortages of every imaginable kind, that is not the case. i don't believe for one second that there is a shortage of anything. not water or land or food or fuel or all the other stuff they tell us we're running out of. don't believe it. never will. and here's why...
this universe is constantly expanding. with every new life and every new idea and every breath we take, it keeps expanding. the more we ask for, the more the universe expands to meet those requests. the more we get, the more we want. this is NOT greed. it's E-X-P-A-N-S-I-O-N. just as it should be. the more we buy into the crap about shortages, the more they've got us by the throat. how's that again?
you get to believe whatever you want. you get to be scared if you want or be eager if you want. you're the one who calls the shots on YOUR life. ain't nobody, no how, ever gonna convince me otherwise.
sound like a ranting?
{giggle}
alrighty then.
